Adding patients is a necessary step when using the FollowApp platform. Once a patient is added, you are able to create visits for them, and send them the appropriate communications.

Step by step guide

  • Navigate to the ‘Patients’ tab using the left navigation bar

  • Click on the icon in the top right corner to add a patient. This will open a pop-up on your screen.

  • You will be prompted to fill in information about the patient. The required fields are:

  • ExternalID – This is a unique identifier for the patient. We recommend using the patient’s chart number in your Patient Management Software. If that’s not possible, you can develop a naming system such as ‘Initials-DateOfBirth’. For example, a patient Joe Smith born 01/18/1965 could have ExternalID = ‘JS011865’

  • First Name

  • Last Name

  • Email address OR mobile phone number

  • Center – this will be the name of the clinic this patient attends and will appear in a dropdown list

  • Then click ‘Save and Close’ if you do not want to add a visit now.
